And Da Only Word I sed - I'm Sorry

Babe, (U know who u r)

4 da past few days, I've been living in a high sense of guilty...4 hurting sum1 I care da most. n its always be da case, I am hurt by hurting ppl. Babe, I know wat I've done is unbearable, n might be unforgivable. N I know I deserve not 2 b forgiven. Thus, I am not asking u 2 forgive me, all I ask, is 2 give me a chance 2 say I'm Sorry ... =(

I am Forever Yours ...

And The Only Word I Said - I'm Sorry

For all those time you stood by me

For all those time I made you wait

For all those time I broke your heart

For all those time I caused you hurt

For all those time I left you behind

For all those time you felt alone

For all those time I made you down

For all those time I made you sad

For all those time I left you lonely at nights

For all those time I ran away

For all those time I left you in the rain

For all those time I left you in pain

For all those time I walked out of your life

For all those time I failed to cherish this lovely gift

For all those time you cried without me

For all those time I felt unbearable of hurting you

And The Only Word I Said - I'm Sorry

I promised you to give the world, but its empty inside

I promised you to be by your side, but I'm running away

I promised you to make you smile, but I'm da one who makes you cry

I promised you to be your brother, but sometimes I could not bother

I promised you to protect you, but I disappeared when you need me most

I promised you to be your sunshine, but I came with a heavy pour

I promised you everything, but I can't do even a single thing

And The Only Word I Said - I'm Sorry

I am afraid to be your protector, for I'll let you go

I am scared to give you the world, for I'll fill up with tears and sorrow

I cant give you hope, fearing having you I couldn't cope

I want you to be happy, even most of the time I give you misery

And The Only Word I Said - I'm Sorry

Baby,

Having said these, I am left with nothing

Everytime I promised to give you everything

End up without a single thing

In the very end, there's something I am holding

A true heart ..... singing

Singing you my love and feelings

Forever everlasting

Fondly undying.

@ nites, I cry

Once I had a secret love
That lived within the heart of me
All too soon my secret love
Became impatient to be free

So I told a friendly star
The way that dreamers often do
Just how wonderful you are
And why I'm so in love with you

Now I shout it from the highest hill
Even told the golden daffodils
At last my heart's an open door
And my secret love's no secret anymore

True Love

True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Love is always patient and kind
It is never jealous
Love is never boastful nor conceded

Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins
but always delights in the truth
It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope and to endure … whatever comes

Hi dearest,

No longer in a cheeky mood, in a subdued mood instead. Rather mellow. Thx yah, zack & I really mean it, seriously mean it, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. Deeply regretted the things I said to u. It was the blind rush of a horrible moment when I only saw white anger. I’m really really sorry, dear. Things are arduous for me lately and I roar at every slightest mistake. Deeply ashamed of it & I’m learning to hold a grip on my emotions and myself now. You’re a best friend whom I do not deserve to have.

Let’s get down to business. Hehe, no I’m not your Eng teacher, we help each other, right? Remember academic-academician, you corrected me on that one, hehe. Ok, the second poetry of yours, I don’t know if you have read the works of this author, James Frey but I find similarities in your writing style as well as his.

No full-stop, no stanza, just endless writing, this style of yours is just perfect with the message that you intend to deliver, that is saying sorry. When I read your poem the 3rd time for style, I imagine a flowing river after a heavy rain, you know, ermm, that strong rush of water rolling up in waves, in a fast current. The continuous words symbolize the rush of emotions flowing from your heart, you can’t wait to transmit your guilty feelings into written words and the flow is fast. However, in the last 4 lines, the flow decelerates, in this I interpret that you have delivered everything from the heart and that you’re waiting for your sister’s forgiveness. Maybe it can also mean that you’re projecting sincerity.

You also use repetition, another poetry device to show the reader that you purposely choose those repeated words to strengthen the message that you want to deliver, for example, “For all those time(s)”

2 brief tips that I would like to share with you:

1. It doesn’t matter what style you choose or how you want to write it, for ex: you can write a free verse poetry, that is without rhymes or structure. Some poets adopt this style to go against conventional rules of writing poetry. It’s creative writing so it’s up to you. If you stick to all the rules, it won’t come out naturally. When I started writing poetry, I thought that poetry must be written in stanzas of 4 lines, with a fixed metre & a rhymed scheme so I did that and when I read them now, I find them artificial. In poetry, the meaning is more impt than structure. It’s fine to adopt any style as long as you’re comfortable with it.

2. Usually good poets have a model that they follow before they slowly adopt their own style of writing. Famous poets do imitate the style of writings of other poets such as Ralph Waldo Emerson. After reading his works, I believe that some of his works are influenced by Ibn Rumi & Ibn Al-Arabi (but I might be wrong). Read up others’ poetry, Zack and try to find one that you enjoy reading and study the way he/she writes. My poetry is greatly influenced by Khalil Gibran.

Enjoy writing poems, Zack. You have the talent in you and I’m very proud of your achievements. You have only started and yet, you’re already good. [These words are sincere;)]

Dearest Lady Ians,

lets get it over.things just happened and we shud always think ahead.as i said to one of ma frens, Life is never be tormenting.its not a regret either. its just lessons 4 us to learn n to improve.hence, dun think about it much n lets look forward.

u really brite my day dear. so dearly.prior leaving the house, Ive read ur comments and it puts a smile on my lips all da way long from 62ayres to quay street (where my office is.thinking da support i gain when choosing dis path.n u really proven dat ur vast experience will never be questioned (by me). n dats y i'm taking quite a long time figuring, wat shud i reply. simply outstanding.

im afraid i dont know james frey neither had encountered even one of his compositions.will look one soon. all i cud say, the moment i wrote da poem, all i want is to express my feeligs thru many versions n analogies.its all telling da same thing - regretness.n i put all da circumstances amounting 2 regretness in da first para. simply to throw -to let it burst -explodes uncontroably.

da same technique used in da last para which elaborating on - hope. it tells all da hope i want wif all i have at the mo.im trying 2 project wat i can give in future wif all da capabilities i still have.sounds promising but realistic still.

responding on ur tips:

1) how many styles are dere in writing poems? i need to learn n be exposed to da existing styles before introducing mine.it wud b pointless u delve da road not knowing where 2 go even u know how to drive.hence, i wud appreciate if u cud provide me few samples of writing poem by any prominent poets in da world.
shud i go wif shakepere first? he's hell of gud poet.

2) ive come acrossed ibnu rumi n khalil gibran. da former was really great in elaborating da true meaning of heart.mind me asking, y r u so into gibran?anything dat catched ur attention? im yet to find da one i adore, but i believe shakespere is da best.

3) do u have sort of a poem compilation website? sort of a database which gathers all best poem ever made.how do u find all these authentic classical poems?

thanks dear. ur sincere thought burns my enthusiastic flame 2 work harder n learn more.creative writing is da one i am up to now.which has put us loads of thing in common, loads to tell n plenty to share.

ur hope lights me ahead,
x

- love your words so much. :)

We hurt people on a daily basis. On a weekly basis. On a monthly basis. What's important is that word - SORRY. it's the only thing that can heal a broken heart (other than that occasional act of asking for forgiveness - melutut etc etc hehe)

Anyways I'm sure you just hv to open your mouth and tell that person what you felt. That's all that matters. He'll understand what's going on in your heart. I'm sure.

Good luck...

Hi dearest,

Wow, I'm really happy with your enthusiasm in poetry. It is a real joy to discuss my passion with people who are really into the thing I love.Knowing you, Zack, once you decide to take up something, you'll go all the way. I'll be more honoured to assist you in every possible way.

I respond to your questions one by one. James Frey is an author of two well-known books, namely "A Million Little Pieces" and "My Best Friend Leonard". The two novels relate to the issue of overcoming drug addiction. They are not self-help books but accounts that vividly describe addiction in Frey's own experiences. The way he writes is endless, just like yours.

About styles, I'll compile them, added with examples and give them to you this weekend. Do you want me to post it here or via email? Sure, you can start with Shakespeare, he's the best so far.

I'm into spiritual poetry as well as criticisms about life and Khalil Gibran speaks the language that I desire to deliver. How do I chance upon Gibran? Through another good friend's poetry. He writes songs for his punk band and previously, he rang me up to read his poetry to me (just to get the feel of it). I was enchanted and enquired for the source of inspiration. It was Gibran. Then he lent me the book, and that started my love for Gibran. Sadly, Gibran's books are banned in Malaysia.

Currently, I'm into Wong Phui Nam's

http://www.viweb.freehosting.net/WongPN.htm

and Raja Ahmad's poems (he's a law grad-turned-poet, remember the poet I told u about last weekend?), Muhammad Haji Salleh (our own Malaysian laureatte, now a visiting prof at Harvard) and yes, My Chemical Romance's lyrics :))

I'll send you the links this weekend. Usually, I'll search according to countries; Famous American poets, Famous Australian poets, English, New Zealand, Postcolonial poetry and lately I'm into diasporic poets (who write about finding for a sense of belonging). Besides classic poets, it'll be nice to study contemporary poets, Zack because you can meet and interact with them. Some of them do blog.

Zack, actually I'm doing a project of my own since two years ago in which I compile all my friends' poetry into a self-made book. A friend has agreed to help me to create a book and I'm selecting the poems now. Some of my male friends are too shy to tell others that they write poetry, lest they'll be called sissies but they write really good. So I came up with this book idea two years ago. The book is a closed project and this project is for them who are too shy to express themselves. I'm still compiling so if you are interested, you can send a poem or two.But seriously, I don't know when the book will be ready coz there are not enough entries and time is another factor.

No prob, dear. It's nice to share wonderful things. This is a small thing that I can do for you.

Your sparks of enthusiasm is my motivation

Dear Mirul,

thanks. i speak not using mouth per se but deeply counting on my experience and intuition.hence, da beauty words spelt come from a combination of both. sum1 even told me, i speak from da heart,n da mouth is merely conveying.

yeah. we always hurt ppl n in particularly, hurting ourselves. life is about hurting and healing. i know ppl keep on saying u cant avoid it,but lemme tell u my undying dream ever since I learnt bout life.
da truth is - I want 2 go to a place where dere is no sadness, separation n pain.(i know such destination wudnt exist on dis mortal earth)

(those who close 2 me + really into korean will know where is dis sentence originally taken)=)

at da mo,its all settled.upon reading my words,da person is left wif a big heart to forgive.Im glad its all over now.huhu

God bless

dearest lady ians,

yeah please show me da way. i know its hard 2 start everything from da scratch.but i always believe dreams r hard to achieve but it never be impossible. a song once said, 'dere can be miracles if u believe, though hope is frail its hard to achieve'

knowing i got a partner to guide me all long da way, makes me think - how blessed i am for god has granted me a source of imspiration 2 pursue my dream.its just dat ive to work bit hard to make it happen.god willing, it will happen.

i've glanced both frey's poems in da morning (just a glance since i'm off to work) both r amazing. but still i'm figuring, wat is he really into? is he into love, frenship, spiritual, social or wat? cuz i believe every poet has its own characteristic of ideas.he can writes anything but dere must be sumting special he/she really expert wif.

on gibran, why are his books r banned in Malaysia? izzit too spiritual which cant be accepted in da malaysian way of thinking? (which is not a surprise). ive heard he's a sufi and hence his writings were reflecting much to sufism. cud u verify?

my dear,
only do it when u r free. i know its not easy 4 u dere.wif all da workloads n stuffs. plus, dis isnt sumting im giving my whole attention to.im start liking it but i still have my existing engagements which cant be neglected.as a matter of fact (as i told u) i write when i feel 2 write.though its once in a while,da impact is huge. so assist me when u r free n please dun put da burden on urself. writers arent burdened to write for they write when they feel like writing.

u can have both poems of mine 4 ur project. all for free.its a gud project tho. im supporting u from far.just tell me if u need any of my assistance.in terms of material, everything i'll write later will straight go into dat compilation.omg - cant wait it 2 happen. -smile-

your experience is my guidance,

Hi dearest,

Sorry for not replying this earlier. I overlooked this section since your latest entry caught my
eye :)

Yes, dreams are hard to achieve but we must believe in miracles. Miracles come in many forms, such as friends, family, opportunities, bad events that eventually hold the doors to our dreams and etc. The ways that God fulfils our dreams are astonishing because opportunities just creep from nowhere and sometimes you can't comprehend why.Life is full of surprises, isn't it?

Gibran, dear, was a Lebanese Christian. A talented poet and writer, he was (and is still) dubbed as one of the greatest figures in Literature. His writings do not only consist of spiritual themes, they include love and political issues as well. Even though he was spiritual, his writings do not demonstrate the elements of Sufism. He was more of a mystical poet to me.

I've read his political essays and they are very thought-provoking. Maybe due to this reason, his books are deemed unsafe. His love poems are good too, able to move me to tears. He is creative as well as critical.

About James Frey, his first novel is a bestseller.I'm mesmerized by the way he writes and when he describes pain, I can almost feel it. Foe example, he writes about going to the dentist after a horrible accident due to alcohol and drug addiction. While I was reading that part, I was eating an ice-cream.Just imagine, by the power of his written words, I immediately felt pain in my gums and stopped eating. (No,I'm not kidding) The fast and slow pace of his delivery also helps the readers in fathoming his anguish . He writes about the reality of drug addiction and alcoholism but there's a controversy behind it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Frey

But still, he's a writer with much potential.

Thanks Zack for giving me the two poems. I don't know if the book will exist cecause I'm facing many things now.I can turn to you for help, right, if I need support for the book? Thank you for being there.

I am looking out for more poems in this blog :) Keep on writing!

Oh my my... How I wish this poem WAS WRITTEN IN MALAY!!! hahaha... Aku nak mengomel apa jadah pon aku tatau hukum hakam poetry dalam English... Harus bibit2 yg aku rasa tak ritma, maksudnya berkait... maka poetic... Ada plak bait2 yg ritma ada, tp kesinambungan dia aku rasa sangsi... but still lagi poetic...

All in all... Pendek kata... AKU TAKDE HAK NAK KOMEN ya poem ni ok!! hahaha... Buat POEM Malay lain kali!!... Baru aku bley COMMENT miehehe...

But on another note... Just to comment about the TOPIC BEING DISCUSSED... About the WORD SORRY hehe...

SORRY seems to be the HARDEST WORD to say for some...
But for some others plak... SORRY seems to be the ONLY WORD to say...

Either type... We have to appreciate the fact that this WORD SORRY might not be able to change WHATEVER DAMAGE WE'VE DONE...

Terlajak Perahu Di Tarik Semula
Terlajak Tindak Sesal Selama...

But at least by saying SORRY.. We've DONE SOMETHING rather than NOTHING rite??

Be sorry for what you've inflicted... But make sure you are not SORRY TWICE!! :D

Dear Lady Ians,

I drink ur first point without a doubt. Indeed, life is full of miracles.becuz we believe, above all, beyond human powers an scientific laws, its Him standing up dere.watching n guiding us from heaven. hence we must never stop hoping n praying for He shall grant us miracles n surprises in life.

oic
i'll search gibran's profile later together wif his series of compilations.i need to take sum time delving into his writings n to understand him more. I appreciate all da facts u've presented but i wudnt feel much convinced n believed unless i encountered it by myself.with my own senses i wud say. but those prelim info are truly useful for me to identify him.

say, before im going back home,i must buy all of his books n writings knowing its hard to find in Malaysia.it gives me an inspiration to get those as u mentioned those r deemed unsafe in our country.i wanna find my own justification why da book must be banned for da readers 2 explore.i wish we cud be like da brits. practising freedom of expressions, thoughts n conscience.

in regards to james frey, i wish i cud be like him.i want da readers to feel exactly how i feel.isnt dat marvellous dear? da ability to make ppl deeply feel wat u experience.to me dats extraordinary. simply outstanding. no lay mortal cud do dat.lay writers can simply explain wat he feels but cudnt get da readers to feel as well.
gosh..i wish i cud be like him. i wish.

we shall cooperate closely in da near future.for da passion we have, for da love of english poems and literature we endure.
we shall stay in touch

more poems r coming out soon

i'll accept ur challenge in producing more poems in malay. a dwi-lingual poets are scarcely to find but wud be great if we cud have one. allow me to start wif english and i'll start expanding my talent in BM when i feel strongly 2 do dat.(wif a strict guidance from u) =)

how true

indeed. it never change da things we've messed up. da scar wud always be dere no matter how fast time flies.but i guest we need to redress da things we've done otherwise u keep on reiterating da same mistakes.even worst, makes u a heartless chap.

i like ur last sentence..how deep da meaning is.u really taught me sumting 2day dear.every time i received ur comments,ur two cents always makes me sumting to ponder.thanks dear.

perhaps we shud now listen to 'sorry seems to b da hardest word' featuring blue and sir elton john.
