My Lil' Prayer

May I teach each student how
To live a better life
To face struggles as they come
And have hope in times of strife
For lessons are not just in a book
It’s not just what they know
It’s how to choose the proper path
That makes a child grow
Let me teach right from wrong
To see the beauty in each day
To understand eternal truth
To help light a child’s way
For if I help a student grow
In both wisdom and in heart
Then I will feel Your blessings
That I have done my part
I pray for your guidance O Lord
And that is all I ask
In building character and confidence
As I go about my task
